Frequently Asked Questions

Who Should Go to Counselling?

Everyone! Counselling is not only for when we are going through big challenges, it can be a place of on-going extra support during any stage of our lives. There is no wrong time to seek counselling.

How Long Should I Be In Counselling?

For some, counselling is life-long, and for others it is for a brief period of time when they feel they need extra support, it is entirely up to you. Again, there is no wrong time to seek counselling and there is no time limit.

How Often Should I Have Sessions?

This is ultimately up to you and what you feel best suits your needs. Usually, once a week is a great starting place, especially if it is your first time seeking counselling.

Can I Ask My Counsellor About Themselves?

Of course! Each counsellor is different in what they are willing to share about themselves personally, but at Lightrliving Counselling, openness and curiosity is encouraged.

Will My Insurance Cover My Sessions?

Each insurance provider is different, so it is encouraged to check the requirements with your provider. As a registered R.C.C. and C.C.C. most insurance companies across Canada will accept sessions to be billed. At this time we do not provide direct billing.

I acknowledge and respect the oral practices of the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations.
